Dear BHS Parents and Students,

This proposed dress code, to be enforced in the 2017-2018 school year, is going to the Board for approval June 12 at 6:00pm. It includes no changes except to prohibit blankets from being used as outerwear. We want you to have plenty of time to buy clothing that meets the Code.


No blankets are allowed as protective outerwear.


Only slacks, jeans, shorts hemmed to within 4 inches to the top of the knee or below. They may not be rolled up.

Note: All pants are to be without holes exposing skin above the knee. All pants are to be securely in place above the top of the pelvis without undergarments visible at any time. Pajama pants or pants that look like sleepwear are prohibited. No tights, leotards, jeggings, or leggings may be worn as pants. Anything deemed too form fitting is in violation of the dress codeShirts

Polo style shirt, Button-down dress shirt, Tee shirt, Sleeveless shirt with straps of at least 3 finger width.

All shirts must be without holes. Sheer or see-through outer garments must have undergarments that meet the dress code. No tank tops, camis or spaghetti straps, but sheer garments may be used to cover these shirts. No muscle shirts, tube tops or strapless tops. Note: No midriff or cleavage may be shown.

Skirts and Dresses

Skirts (Length to the knee or below, including slits).

Dresses (Length to the knee or below, including slits).

Dresses (Top part of the dress must meet the same requirements of the above mentioned shirts).

No tight, form fitting skirts or dresses.


Tennis style or hard sole shoes are preferred.

Bedroom slippers are prohibited.

Cleats are prohibited.

Because of safety, sandals and flip-flops are not allowed in PE and certain vocational classes. (See your vocational instructor).
